【摘要】:Reportedparticlesizemeasurementisafunctionofboththeactualparticledimensionandshapefactoraswellastheparticularphysicalorchemicalpropertiesbeingmeasured.Cautionisrequiredwhencomparingdatafrominstrumentsoperatingondifferentphysicalorchemicalparametersorwithdifferentparticlesizemeasurementranges.Sampleacquisition,handling,andpreparationcanalsoaffectreportedparticlesizeresults.5.1.1Itisimportanttorecognizethattheresultsobtainedbythistestmethod,oranyothermethodforparticlesizedeterminationusingdifferentphysicalprinciples,maydisagree.Theresultsarestronglyinfluencedbythephysicalprinciplesemployedbyeachmethodofparticlesizeanalysis.Theresultsofanyparticlesizingmethodshouldbeusedonlyinarelativesense;theyshouldnotberegardedasabsolutewhencomparingresultsobtainedbyothermethods.Lightscatteringtheoryhasbeenavailableformanyyearsforuseinthedeterminationofparticlesize.Severalmanufacturersoftestingequipmentnowhaveunitsbasedontheseprinciples.Althougheachtypeoftestingequipmentusesthesamebasicprinciplesforlightscatteringasafunctionofparticlesize,differentassumptionspertinenttoapplicationofthetheory,anddifferentmodelsforconvertinglightmeasurementstoparticlesize,mayleadtodifferentresultsforeachinstrument.Therefore,theuseofthistestmethodcannotguaranteedirectlycomparableresultsfromdifferenttypesofinstruments.Knowledgeoftheparticlesizedistributionofmetalpowdersisusefulinpredictingthepowder-processingbehaviorandultimateperformanceofpowdermetallurgyparts.Particlesizedistributionisrelatedcloselytotheflowability,moldability,compressibility,anddie-fillingcharacteristicsofapowder,aswellastothefinalstructureandpropertiesoffinishedpowdermetallurgy(P/M)parts.Thistestmethodisusefultobothsuppliersandusersofpowdersindeterminingtheparticlesizedistributionsforproductspecifications,manufacturingcontrol,development,andresearch.Thistestmethodmaybeusedtoobtaindataforcomparisonbetweenlotsofthesamematerialorforestablishingconformance,asinacceptancetesting.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheparticlesizedistributionbylightscattering,reportedasvolumepercent,ofparticulatematerialsincludingmetalsandcompounds.1.2Thistestmethodappliestoanalyseswithbothaqueousandnonaqueousdispersions.Inaddition,analysiscanbeperformedwithagaseousdispersionformaterialsthatarehygroscopicorreactwithaliquidcarrier.1.3Thistestmethodisapplicabletothemeasurementofparticulatematerialsintherangeof0.4to2000m,orasubsetofthatrange,asapplicabletotheparticlesizedistributionbeingmeasured.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
