【摘要】:Thissheartestisdesignedtoproduceshearpropertydataformaterialspecifications,researchanddevelopment,qualityassurance,andstructuraldesignandanalysis.Eitherin-planeorinterlaminarshearpropertiesmaybeevaluated,dependingupontheorientationofthematerialcoordinatesystemrelativetotheloadingaxis.Factorsthatinfluencetheshearresponseandshouldthereforebereportedinclude:material,methodsofmaterialpreparationandlay-up,specimenstackingsequence,specimenpreparation,specimenconditioning,environmentoftesting,specimenalignmentandgripping,speedoftesting,timeattemperature,voidcontent,andvolumepercentreinforcement.Inanisotropicmaterials,propertiesmaybeobtainedinanyofthesixpossibleshearplanesbyorientingthetestingplaneofthespecimenwiththedesiredmaterialplane(1-2or2-1,1-3or3-1,2-3or3-2).Onlyasingleshearplanemaybeevaluatedforanygivenspecimen.Properties,inthetestdirection,whichmaybeobtainedfromthistestmethod,includethefollowing:5.2.1Shearstressversusengineeringshearstrainresponse,5.2.2Ultimateshearstrength,5.2.3Ultimateengineeringshearstrain,5.2.4Shearchordmodulusofelasticity,5.2.5Transitionstrain.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheshearpropertiesofhigh-modulusfiber-reinforcedcompositematerialsbyclampingtheendsofaV-notchedspecimenbetweentwopairsofloadingrails.Whenloadedintension,therailsintroduceshearforcesintothespecimenthroughthespecimenfaces.Incomparison,thespecimenofTestMethodD5379/D5379Misloadedthroughitstopandbottomedges.Faceloadingallowshighershearforcestobeappliedtothespecimen,ifrequired.Additionally,thepresenttestmethodutilizesaspecimenwithalargergagesectionthantheV-notchedspecimenofTestMethodD5379/D5379M.Inbothtestmethods,theuseofaV-notchedspecimenincreasesthegagesectionshearstressesinrelationtotheshearstressesinthevicinityofthegrips,thuslocalizingthefailurewithinthegagesectionwhilecausingtheshearstressdistributiontobemoreuniformthaninaspecimenwithoutnotches.Incomparison,TestMethodD4255/D4255Mutilizesanunnotchedspecimenclampedbetweentwopairsofloadingrailsthatareloadedintension.AlsoincontrasttoTestMethodD4255/D4255M,thepresenttestmethodprovidesspecimengrippingwithouttheneedforholesinthespecimen.Thecompositematerialsarelimitedtocontinuous-fiberordiscontinuous-fiber-reinforcedcompositesinthefollowingmaterialforms:1.1.1Laminatescomposedonlyofunidirectionalfibrouslaminae,withthefiberdirectionorientedeitherparallelorperpendiculartothefixturerails.1.1.2Laminatesofbalancedandsymmetricconstruction,withthe0directionorientedeitherparallelorperpendiculartothefixturerails.1.1.3Laminatescomposedofwoven,braided,orknittedfabricfilamentarylaminae.1.1.4Short-fiber-reinforcedcompositeswithamajorityofthefibersbeingrandomlydistributed.1.2ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Withinthetexttheinch-poundunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnonconformancewiththestandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuse......
